Stamped Pillow

With Stazon ink, anything is possible.
I've created a seasonal pillow
made from a scrap of vintage linen!
It might have been an old hand towel.
I was able to cut it in half for two pillows.
I made the back red.

This cherry print is so cute,
but there was an open white area
right in the middle.
So I filled the gap with stamping!

This Unity stamp set is called Grid Alpha.

Unity Color Challenge

This is an interesting color scheme
from Unity Stamp Company,
not one I would have dreamt up!
But once I started,
I got hooked on creating with it.

Those two blues together that perplexed me at first.
But yes...they can coexist!

The sentiment is from Birthday Jubilee.
(a "must have" set, believe me!)
Those flowers are from KOTM 11/13.
 They're so whimsical.

I colored them with Copic markers.
The dot paper is fuzzy, for a cool textured background.

Here is the next card:

I hated this one, that is...until I added that flower!
The background was weak, but the blue matting
and flower made it POP.

The kits here are KOTM 11/13, Just Wanted To Say,

Card #3

This house stamp is Neighbor.
I know 2 people selling their houses
and one that just moved.

Card #4

The clouds in both house cards are from Mr. Boy
The shrubs are actually the top of the tree from So Blessed.

Card #5

I love these sentiments from the KOTM 4/12.

Card #6

(Dutch Mustard Soup & Just Wanted to Say)
I did some masking here, to "overlap" the rings.

Blooming Basket

Check out my seriously original handmade flowers for the

Curious how I made them?

I started with the fan from a Tim Holtz
blueprint stamp purchased at the Funkie Junkie Boutique.

I cut just the fan blade portions out.

I curled these "petals".

I stacked 3 layers of petals & sewed them together,
topped with a button.

They were fun to make. I just love the stamped pattern.
It was a cool way to dress up this basket
with ribbon, tissue paper & some blooms.

Sunshine

I sent this non-typical birthday card to
my step dad in Florida.  He is down
there for the winter & so I took their
location as a chance to stamp some sun
You'll notice a lot of yellow
Stickles glitter on it too.

SUNSHINE & HAPPINESS was stamped in
black directly on the card.  Then I masked
the sentiment with a piece of scrap paper and
stamped the blue swirls. Next, I framed the
words with paper & added the glitter.  The sun
was stamped in orange on the card,
and again with yellow on a scrap
paper and cut out to layer.  You can see I did
the glitter carefully around the dots!

B is for Bird

I've been enjoying this pheasant under my bird feeder lately.
What a gorgeous creature!

I just love birds & have faithfully been
feeding them this nasty winter.
The snow here is thigh high and
still coming!  No wonder this uncommon
visitor is seeking an easy meal.

This cardboard hanging sign was fun to create,
with such pretty inspiration just outside my window.

I used Tim Holtz paints, real sticks & a Webster's Pages bloom.

Spring Birds

I'm thinking positive, towards spring time!
I've had enough with the snow & cold.
So in my craft cave, I ignored the snow piled
against the egress window and got creative
with a sets called Spring Unity

Here is a close look at the
sweet (Stickle) sparkle hearts:

This is the faint background corner:

I used my Copic markers to color the nests & birds.
This allows me to tailor match the image to any
color scrap paper from my over filled tote!

Unity Color Challenge

I'd be silly not to take a shot at the Unity Stamp Company's
monthly color/sketch challenge.  The prize is a biggie!

These color are such a great combo.
It was an easy task, to create with them.
I followed the card sketch as well.

I made this card for the in-laws.
Then I liked it so much, I made an extra one!
The fancy stamp is from the What I Know kit.

The paper is all old Webster's Pages.

Unity Valentines

Here is a playful card for Valentines !
The stamp is from the Unity KOTM.
I used my Copic marker on the the fox image,
then added some washi tape for a contrasting color.

On the subject of foxes...
Who doesn't love internet video sensation?
It's silly & strange, but my kids like it.

Next up:
...an Itty Bitty Stamp, which I stamped twice.
Once in brown (for the stem) on the pink, next with red on white.
I cut that red one out (minus the stem portion) and placed it
over the brown image.  The leaf is a paper add on.
Just adding that little leaf blends it better with
 background colors, don't you think?

I added a red gem to the "core".

Which card do YOU like better?

No Hearts ~ Blueprint Valentine

One more entry here,
I made this Valentine without using any
hearts, which took some creative thinking!

The blueprint stamp is from the Funkie Junkie Boutiqe.
I colored him with a Copic marker. The flower
really dressed it up a bit, without using hearts!

No Hearts~ Cupid Valentine

The current Frilly & Funkie blog challenge is to make
a Valentine without using hearts!
I had a bit of fun with this
& even found some inspiration in their Step X Step example for
ways to layer color, stencils & stamps!

I used a Tim Holtz stencil for the pink stripes,
and the corner & script stamps are also T.H. brand.

The cupid is a stamped image, cut out & used as a unique paper mask!!!

That stamp is from the Funkie Junkie Boutique
I cut that little guy out and carefully help him in place
as I sponge inked around it.
I used a little washi tape & Unity sentiment stamp.
  NO HEARTS!
