Hope U Luv Skool
I needed to send my niece some fundraiser money for school. This card from the Cosmo Cricket class at Scrapfest got modified to a "I hope you love school" theme. It has cute alphabet strips and I was able to try out my new heart punch. I stamped with a Unity brand rubber cling, for a little flourish design on that middle punch. Then I sponge inked around heart edges and popped up that middle one.

Unity Card Sketch
Here is a card sketch from Unity:
For some reason I really struggled with this one. On my third try, I finally got one done that I liked. It's an entry for My Unity Place's MUPCO7 .
The pale green on green pattern paper in the back was made using a Unity stamp. The number paper is Jillibean Soup.
That sweet little plane in off In The Clouds by Echo Park & Unity. Did you notice the circle's trim? It's ribbon that I cut almost all the way through to allow for curving.
I encourage you to try this yourself. Cut your wide ribbon to make a fringed, curving border.

No Layers
I'm sneaking in this entry for All Things Unity's challenge to use *only*one*layer*. This WAS a challenge. I had to do some masking & it's not perfect by any means. It did cause me to try something new & keep learning! I broke out the brayer & found some good techniques on Youtube. Here is what I came up with:

Cool Ride
Sometimes I struggle with titles and often don't even use them. But "Cool Ride" seemed to fit this page. Not only because my boys are so rad in their shades, but because an open top jeep is darn windy and cool.
This is my entry for the lovely sketch at Let's Capture these Sketches.

Yes, I used gold glitter on a boy page. The letters are glitter Thickers. The paper is Oxford from Basic Grey. I used an EK Success plaid edge punch. The mud splats were from the Sizzix. That awesome stamp is an Unity Itty Bitty called Having Fun. I embossed it in Cocoa by CTMH. The gold fleur was one that I borrowed while at a crop.
We have a Jeep Scrambler that we only use in the summer. It's so fun to cruise with the top off when it's warm in summer. Something about riding around in a Jeep makes you feel so cool.

"B" is for Boy
I used some leftovers from a Scrapfest class on a boy page. I had some cute photos of my little guy at the park & the colors went well with Jillibean Soup's "Spotted Owl" product line.
I did some misting with Maya Road, using a die cut off the Cricut's Graphically Speaking cartridge as a mask. Isn't that spritz blend lovely?

School Gift
My niece started kindergarten this year. I wanted to give her some awesome glitter pencils that I'd found for her to use in class. Using Unity stamps, I created a special little gift.
I embossed the background with a clear sparkle powder, for a gleaming shine.

The apple had glitter glue added & some fancy scissors made postage scallops. Yellow ribbon finished it off.
Remember, any gift can become a decorative project. This is a color combination that I never would have tried, but the pencils inspired me.

Mall of America Scrapfest
Hello bloggers.
I'd like to share my experiences from the fabulous Archiver's Scrapfest Event this past weekend.
I pretty sure I had stars in my eyes when I when through the line at BoBunny. I love them.
Cosmo Cricket gave oodles of products away in their class.
Echo Park was unique, giving away temporary tattoos.
Little Yellow Bicycle was the "untouchable" booth, clocking in around 2-4 hours for some folks (not me!). Here is what they were making....
K&Company's SMASH was throwing tee shirts at fans.
Heidi Swapp taught me how to make tissue paper ruffles.
I hoarded mini badge buttons the booths gave away to decorate my rolling tote.
We found out how fun a souvenir photo booth can be.
I even caught a glimpse of the grunge-master Tim Holtz(link to Youtube class video).
Here are some project ideas I saw on display.

Scrapbooking Laughs
Every once in a while, I stumble on a spoof about scrapbooking. It's pretty funny that folks like to tease us about being camera happy & pulling "all nighters". Here are some of my FAVORITES.....
Scrap Rap
I just crossed a link on Facebook for:

Blast Off!
I am thrilled to go to Scrapfest 2011 this weekend. Last year I skipped it, but have gone "all out" this year. My schedule includes FOUR classes. There was another one that I wanted to do, but opted for a "do it at home" version. October Afternoon's Rocket Age line makes the cutest chipboard album with precut papers.
My goal was to finish this puppy BEFORE scrapfest. Sometimes my chipboard purchases sit....for years. Not this one! Nope, I am on the ball.
