Baby Dino

How fun are little boy cards?

I love 'em.

Here is a blue (surprise surprise) card using the Unity Mr. Boy dinosaur.

Sorry for the blurry photo.  I was in a hurry.
The next pics are better.

The letters were cut with Sizzix dies on my old school AccuCut machine.
I got the shiny blue from a Kleenex box!
The cardboard seemed so neat, I just had to put it to use!

This is an entry to Unity's New Beginnings blog challenge.

Layers

This layout focuses on adding layer upon layer.  The Glitter Girl at Two Peas In A Bucket is challenging us with this technique & I was all about trying!  It's good to break away from your common techniques!

Using Echo Parks "For the Record", I've stacked & layered & clustered various elements.
All the stickers, tags, scraps & borders left in my paper kit filled all the nooks.
Since the kit is running low, the background paper is WeR Memory Keepers~ Teen Angst.

Everyone claims my boys looks so much alike,
hence the stickers stating "It's as clear as day" (that they're brothers).

I used my AccuCut & Sizzix dies to cut the glitter paper title.
My three year old often calls big brother his "bro".

TIN

Today I have an Ippity creation using the A Bit Of Burlap background stamp. This challenge can be found at the Unity Opportunity blog.  The theme is fun: something old, new, borrowed & blue!  The tin is OLD, the small brown bird is NEW, the key idea is BORROWED, and the flower ribbon is BLUE.

Other products include:
Webster's Pages Bloomers
W.P. bird
hemp
vintage key
burlap
CTMH cardstock
Kraft paper

I made a tag using some die cut phrases, scallop scissors, and glued on the bird.  There just had to be something fun to tuck inside the box.  It could be used to store so many things!

Pocket Calendars

This post is a dollar store tranformation.  I purchased (3) 2012-2013 planners and gave them a make-over.

Just add Stickles!

I made the most basic card, just to find that it was perfectly simple.  It's Bobunny Crush paper, with a sticker from the paper pack.  A little red Stickles glitter glue over the heart made it so cute!

Keep checking back here for many more Valentine card ideas!

Finders Keepers

This is my first layout using rosettes!  I got a scorer & boy does that make life easier!

Webster's Pages paper often has neat designs that you can cut out & use as embellishments.  They sell really neat gems that can be used in a row or cut apart.

These photos are of my son and his forest treasure~ a turkey feather!

BLOG TO VISIT

My cousin started a blog & is enthusiastically posting.  Please stop over there & check out her scrapbook pages, etc.  She's so talented & the queen of all things organized & perfect!

Happenings By Heidi

By the way she sent me an award!

Liebster is German and means 'dearest' or 'beloved' but it can also mean 'favorite'. The idea of the Liebster award is to bring attention to blogs with less than 200 followers. So, in the spirit of good fun I am passing this award on to five other bloggers. Please stop by and visit them.

The Rules are:

1. Show your thanks to the blogger who gave you the award by linking back to them.

2. Reveal your five picks for the award and let them know.

3. Post the award on your blog.

4. Bask in the love from the most supportive people on the blogshare-other bloggers.

5. Finally and the best rule of all..........have fun and spread the love!

My five picks for the Liebster award are:

Junior Ranger

On our Yellowstone Vacation, my son became a Junior Park Ranger. He worked so hard watching the wildlife & studying the natural features.  I love the photo of him down in the dirt drawing a hoof print.  The giant buffalo was warming itself by a steaming geyser.

The paper, letters and frame are Webster's Pages.  The letter stickers make for fast titles.  I made the unusual circle on the Cricut & filled in all the little windows with alternating papers.  The photo is matted on Canvas and cardstock with false stitching.  The stamp is Close To My Heart and so are the tiny brads.  One of my favorite things in the scrapbooking world is seam binding.  It made a messy, rustic bow for this outdoor layout.

Magazine Ad Inspiration

Two Peas In A Bucket. . .

I know I know I know, I'm like a broken record.

Here is yet ANOTHER challenge.
Weekly scrapbook challenge theme: Use a magazine ad for inspiration!

I was in a scrapbooking funk & this pulled me right out!  Those paint splats are a Tim Holtz stamp, brand new from the Pine City Scrapbooking Company!  The paper kit is all Echo Park "For the Record" line.

Are you wondering about the stitching?  FAKE!

It's from the CTMH Circles stamp set.  I love it because it's so realistic & way faster.

Valentine Candles

I spruced up a few candles for Valentine gifts.  The paper on this first one is Bobunny's Crush.

I wanted to add more, but decided leaving it simple looked best.

This next candle is a shorter apple spice scented one.  The paper is Making Memories Love Notes.

"Two Hearts Beat As One"

I used the Paper Lace Cricut cartridge on top.

If you have candles that don't match your room's decor, just cover them with any patterned paper for a custom tranformation!  You can make any jar candle a holiday theme with a few scrapbooking supplies.

Use Ribbon

I love ribbon & have a huge basket full.  It's time to start using it, instead of hoarding.  This card is for the Two Peas In A Bucket video challenge.  The example the Garden Girl made is so pretty!

Simple Dog Layout

I was saving these layouts until after the Design Team for Webster's Pages was announced.  I didn't make the cut, but am still excited to share my creations with you.

Our dog, Smokey, is a grandma!  Can you tell she is excited?  I still like this photo of the girls basking in the sun.

I embossed silver on the May Road chipboard, cut the word with Heritage on the Cricut, used Love The Journey W.P. paper & CTMH cardstock. The little squares are punched from W.P. petite papers.

Party Project

I have a cute project to show from my recent Close To My Heart party.  My consultant, Donelle, is awesome!  She left a few extra unfinished projects on my table & so I ended up with THREE cute little hearts.  Since only one was stamped, I dug out a bird stamp for the two unfinished hearts. They were cut on the CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge.

Originally, I thought a magnet on the back would be a fun way to use them.  They could go on the refridgerator.  But when I discovered the two extra hearts, I punched holes & hung them on an old rake head.

I added a bunch of gems to glam up the middle heart.  If you visit Donelle's website, this paper pack is on clearance under while supplies last!  $3

In case she's reading this. . . . THANKS DONELLE!  Your the best.

Paint Samples

I spotted this idea in a magazine, so the last trip to Walmart I grabbed some paint samples to work with.  All the stamps are from Unity's With All My Heart set. Almost all the paper is Bobunny's Crush pack.
