Black Friday

Well, I'm going to share a few masculine cards today
for Unity's Friends With Flair linky party!

I'm not out "black Friday" shopping,
because it sounds dangerous!
I'll stick to a little coffee drinking &
blogging today, thank you.

This funky distress ink background
makes a manly card with Nuts & Bolts
gears and the macho jeep Having Fun.

This Something is Fishy stamp
is such a cool background.
I stamped it twice, cutting out a fish
from the extra one for that little tag.

F.J. Tag #8

(part of the 12 tags of Christmas challenge)

I loved the embossed background
with showy snowflakes and the Santa.
You can see I flipped my design.

Since I had my embossing stuff out,
I made two card backgrounds
and stuck with the same design.

The faint shading on the background is with Distress Ink colors:
faded jeans & broken china
Both are from the Funkie Junkie Boutique.

Unisex Card & Sunburst

I love stashing cards that can be used for either gender.
If your in a bind & need that last minute birthday card,
try making this one.  It is a quick one too, featuring
sassy embossed paper and the Unity stamp called
The paper is "old skool" & could be used for anyone that
used the old cassette tapes (cough cough)...
or a teen that thinks they're retro!

Easy, right?
And how perfect with a Itunes card tucked inside!

The next card took more time, but everyone LOVES a sunburst.
One of my sunburst cards on SplitCoastStampers had hundreds of looks.
So I interpret that as a fail safe design!

Leave me a comment on which is YOUR favorite card!
I'm curious to know by votes.

Unity Monthly Challenge

Unity Stamp Company has inspired me again to give their color & sketch challenge a whirl!
The pink & orange combo was very hard for me to work with, but gave a fresh look to my cards.
It's always nice to get out of my typical rut & try something new.

This first one is my favorite, of the several I made.
It features these stamp sets:
Material Girl

Here are two more cards that I colored with Copics.

This heart is called Hello Friend,
which reminds me of my friend Erin!
She USED to stamp & this was SO her style.
Sigh, it's tragic when friends quit crafting.

The sentiment mysteriously turned up on
my craft table & suspect it is from a grab bag.

This All About Hope saying is a nice multi purpose phrase.
The papers used on all three are Authentique, Prima, K & Co.
Did you notice I used the card sketch & color board
to help me on all 3 cards?  I love the design.

Color A Scene

I've been inspired to try more stamped scenes to color.
They are challenging, so I had to take good looks at
some well done examples on Pinterest.
I didn't realize how hard they were to color until my
first attempt (epic fail).  I dare YOU to try!

Here is my finished project:

I think this is a nice blank theme card.
Hopefully it's not too boring.
The glitter on the Pinterest examples
is so fabulous & glitzy.

This stamp is Northwoods brand.
They make amazing images with birds, flowers & more!

FWF~ Angel stamp

This angel stamp from the Unity Company
is so very pretty & fun to use on cards!

ANGIE-1115A-ARIANNA-GIRL

I made a few different ones to
share on the Friends With Flair
linky party at the Unity blog!

Some glitter glue makes here sparkle with magic!

This stamp looks great, anyway you use her!
I cut her out for this wood background,
it turned out to be a neat contrast.

FWF~ Winter Girl

I'm normally not a people stamper,
but this ANGIEgirl from Unity was
one of two that caught my eye.
I like to dabble in coloring with Copics,
so these girls were a change of subject.

Here is a closer look at her (she sparkles).

It actually was snowing here for a while today,
massive flakes.

This one uses some ledger paper
as a background, just to be different.

I cut her out, which wasn't easy, but a very cute option!

Baby it IS cold outside.
I'm going to freeze my tushie while deer hunting this weekend.
I painted my fingernails blaze orange for good luck!

I FOCUSED ON USING A MINI PAPER PAD
FROM KAISERCRAFT & SOME FLOWERS.
THE STAMP IS UNITY BRAND.

F.J. Tag #7

I'm over the hump
on the Funkie Junkie's
12 Tags of Christmas
challenge!

I liked the tones here,
cute snowflakes
and "Joy" sentiment.
PLUS, I dug out my embossing
folder for a little texture!
(thanks for the encouragement Linda)

That snowman stamp is a Mini Blueprint

F.J. Tag #6

Okay, moving right along in the
Funkie Junkie 12 tags of Christmas...

Linda's tree & bow inspired me to use those two items!
So I broke out my Mini Blueprints stamps from
the Funkie Junkie Boutique!
I also used a notebook edge punch.

Aren't those trees cute?
A little Stickles on top adds some bling!
The edges of my paper were aged
with distress ink.

Unity Sketch & Color Challenge

Here is what the Unity Stamp Blog
posted for folks to try out
on this months challenge:

I love those colors,
just in time for Christmas cards!

I used the color scheme,
which is a little different!
The stamp sets are
 Gigham Christmas Greetings
and Gurnsey Gingham.

Here is another card in the same colors,
using the Ticket To Christmas stamp.

It's kind of a magical pile of tickets!

Birthdays....with Unity

I made a few birthday cards using Unity stamps.

These two use the Itty Bitty stamp called

The next card is for a belated birthday!
We've all missed one before.

I added BOLD color flowers with some muted ones
for a unique look. The paper circles added some
background interest.  The stamp is Birthday Jubilee.

F.J. Tag #5

It's the Funkie Junkie's
12 tags of Christmas....

I liked the cardboard she used,
and Santa's head.
So I made an ornament that features
the Simple Sayings stamp from

I stamped, then used glimmer mist.
The edges got some distress ink,
for a worn look.
The poinsettia & tied button are my
favorite part!
This will look cute tied on a gift this holiday!

F.J. Tag #4

I'm still trying to get caught up on the
Here is Linda's tag #4:

I (again) chose to make a card.
I love the three flowers, strip down the left,
and the NOEL. So that's what I copied (the layout).

The snowflakes are Tim Holtz mini Blueprint stamps
I punched them out and added gems.

F.J. Tag #3

Funkie Junkie's tag #3 of the 12 tags of Christmas
 is very cool
with an angel, wise men & NOEL.

I ordered the die cut word from
Here is MY version of this cool tag,
in card form!

I stuck to the mute tones.
The "beams" are just distress ink
rubbed on over a mask by Tim Holtz.
