August Holtz Tag

I'm entering in Tim Holtz's tag of the month challenge.
It encourages us to try masking, which is a very fun technique.
I already had a train stamp cut out for this task, so I stuck with that image.
He had several tag examples this month to choose from.

I tried a "vintage meets bold" color scheme!
It was funky & fun to play around with.

Take a closer look at the "steam".

Yeah, that's right!
Dream like you have sparkles coming out your funnel!
HA!

Thanks for swinging by my Create & Show blog.

Moving Forward

had me thinking about a women's retreat that's coming up.
The theme is "Moving Forward".
I get to decorate a few places at the camp &
will use stacks of suitcases, an old bike, red wagon &
vintage roller skates!  This tag will look cute
tied on a suitcase handle.

I made a trunk shaped tag using ribbon &
foil corner stickers.  The fun chipboard
is from Cosmo Cricket.  I think it's great
that she's "on top of the world".

If you look carefully, you'll notice the slight
background pattern stamped on the kraft paper.
It's a new stamp from the Funkie Junkie Boutique
called Steampunk by Tim Holtz.

I loved this challenge, it really got me thinking
and pushed my creative limits!

DIG

My son & two relatives had a great time searching for treasure
during a baby shower at my grandpa's old farmhouse.
They dug out whatever tools were in the horse barn
and started searching.  Can you believe they even found an old button?

This quote worked great on the layout!

Supplies:
camera stamp - Maya Road
paper - CTMH
"documented" - Echo Park
washi tape
dots paper - Bobunny
quote - DCWV

MARSHAL'S 5TH

My youngest turned 5 in July & we had a picnic.
He got a bike, legos & fishing gear.
It was a great day with lots of kids & family.

like a fun summer touch to my basic white page.
The number 5 stamp is from the SUPER CUTE set
called Summer's Best, which I also used on his card
in the photo (did you notice?).

The bingo card is Jenni Bowlin,
which my friend had on hand when we were
scrapping together. It was nice of her to share!

So Sweet Together

I just went on a scrapbooking weekend.
It was nice to focus on my photographs & take a break from cards.
The three of us had a great time & in two days I made 7 pages
& did a canvas for my son's room.
The first layout I am sharing is of my youngest son & his best buds.
They are all exploring their vegetable garden and look SO SWEET TOGETHER!

The paper is October Afternoon & the stamps are Unity.

I chose to use their layout sketch, but not the color samples.

Sympathy Tree

The tree background on this card
sets the mood so well.
Sympathy cards can be tricky,
but I'm pleased with the
color scheme & simply design here.

The stamp set from Unity is
It's the best sympathy set I've
ever seen, with thoughtful words.
The patterned paper is Authentique.

Fold It

I was feeling inspired to play along with
FOLD IT

Project #1
Here I used Tim Holtz's new Simple Sayings stamp
from the Funkie Junkie Boutique.

Project #2
I folded every other tab of my notebook paper
edge punched strip & a few ripples in the plain white strip.
Here again is the Simple Sayings stamp
from Funkie Junkie Boutique.
makes a great alternative to using a doily!

Project #3
Here I used that same Simple Saying Stamp &
did a few more folds in a strip of brown paper.

Thanks a bunch to the Frilly & Funkie Blog!
You inspire me to get busy with my products!
In Fact, here is a card from your last challenge,
that I just didn't get posted in time.

Here is a link to the summertime theme challenge,
which features many projects. There were some
great creations posted last time.
