Summer Heat

I finally to the time to make a more elaborate,
larger card than normal.  I get in a rush & try
to whip out cards to sell and use.
The "summer heat" challenge over at Frilly and Funkie
required some yellow/orange/red tones & a flower.

The butterfly stamp is a Wendy Vecchi set from
sentiments is also from her store.

The background was made with frayed burlap & antique linen.
Then I dripped water on it for the cool stained effect.
Walnut made the edges dark.

My flower is Bobunny, with Honey distress ink on it.

The green flourish was made on my Cricut Art
Philosophy cartridge.

This project was also inspired by our recently
released pet Monarch.  We raised it from a tiny
egg on a leaf, to this lovely creature.

I hope it comes by to visit my flowers
this summer.

  1. What a beautiful card Jane. I love the way the eye is lead up from the lovely flower via a trail of wonderful butterflies to the sentiment at the top. A great design. Thank you so much for joining us at Frilly and Funkie. Jenny x
